Bloomberg: Apple preparing a major product line update in 2027

According to Bloomberg, Apple is preparing a real breakthrough in 2027, which journalist Mark Gurman called a "product renaissance". After several years of rather restrained releases, the company is preparing a number of new products that will significantly change its ecosystem.

Here's What We Know

The first step will be a folding iPhone, a premium gadget with a titanium body and a fold-free display. It will be presented at the end of 2026 along with the iPhone 18 series. For the foldable iPhone, Samsung is developing a display with a technology that is not available in its own models.

And in 2027, a 20th anniversary model will be released in honour of the iPhone's 20th anniversary - an almost entirely glass smartphone with a curved body and a notchless display.

Apple is also working on a new category of products based on Apple Intelligence. In particular, it is planning smart glasses - competitors to Ray-Ban from Meta - with cameras, microphones and speakers. The new AirPods and Apple Watch models will be equipped with cameras to work with Visual Intelligence.

By 2027, the company promises to relaunch Siri - the voice assistant will get a new base on LLM models and its own chip for AI servers. It is expected that a significant update of the Siri interface will appear in iOS 20.

Finally, Apple will enter the robotics market. The first product will be a desktop robot with a mechanical arm and an AI assistant with its own personality.

In 2028, the company may combine a Mac with a touchscreen iPad into a new hybrid device. But all these plans remain flexible.

The annual Apple WWDC 2025 conference for developers will take place from 9 to 13 June.
