Russia starts using a new cruise missile "Banderol" with a large number of foreign components
Russian troops have begun using the new S8000 Banderol cruise missile, which contains numerous foreign-made components.
Here's What We Know
According to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the missile contains parts from China, Japan, the United States and South Korea. In particular, the batteries are manufactured by the Japanese company Murata, and the telemetry information exchange module is made by the Australian company RF Design. South Korea's Dynamixel supplies the servo, Switzerland's STMicroelectronics supplies the microcontroller, and Japan's Toshiba supplies the phototransistor.
The S8000 Bandera missile is launched from an Orion drone and is planned to be integrated into Mi-28N attack helicopters in the future. The missile was designed and manufactured by the Russian company JSC Kronshtadt.
The missile has a maximum speed of 620-650 km/h and a cruising speed of 520-560 km/h. It is equipped with a Chinese turbojet engine from Swiwin weighing 8.5 kg, which provides a maximum thrust of 81.6 kgf at 65,000 rpm. This allows the rocket to cover a distance of up to 500 km. The missile is about 5 metres long, has a wingspan of 2.2 metres, a body diameter of 30 cm, and a fuel reserve of 50 to 65 kg.
The missile's warhead is an OFBCH-150 with a total weight of 114.3 kg, of which 49.5 kg is the explosive. The explosive used is octogen with the addition of aluminium powder, and the plasticiser is cyclotetramethylene tetranitramine.
