Buy games with Face ID: Apple Pay is now available in the PS Store for PlayStation 5
Sony has quietly added a new payment option to the PlayStation Store on PS5, and that's good news for iOS owners. Now you can use Apple Pay to purchase digital games, which adds convenience.
Here's What We Know
iPhone and iPad owners with iOS/iPadOS 18 or later can use the new feature. To pay for a purchase in the PS Store with Apple Pay, you will see a unique QR code on the screen that you need to scan with your device's camera.
After scanning the code, a link will appear on your iPhone or iPad that will redirect you to the payment page. There you can confirm the payment with Face ID or Touch ID using an active Apple Pay card.
While the payment process may seem a little more complicated than saving your card details to your PSN account, using Face ID or Touch ID can help when you have a card issue and your payment doesn't go through.
