Huawei is preparing to release a new line of mid-range smartphones - Nova 14. According to the latest leaks, the devices will feature the latest HarmonyOS 5 operating system, which is due to be released alongside the company's first ARM laptop in 2025. This will be a major step in strengthening Huawei's non-Android ecosystem.

Here's What We Know

The series is expected to include the Nova 14, 14 Pro, and a new flagship, the Nova 14 Ultra, which hasn't been available for several generations. The Ultra version is rumoured to have a powerful Kirin 9-series processor, an innovative multispectral camera sensor, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. However, the latter was already present in the Nova 13 Pro, so it's not a big surprise.

The Nova 14 Ultra can have up to 1TB of internal storage, while the 14 and 14 Pro will only offer 256GB and 512GB variants. The amount of RAM will be limited to 12 GB for all models.

The previous generation Nova 13 featured a 50-megapixel variable aperture main camera, a 60-megapixel front-facing camera, and a distinctive checkered design. The Nova 14 series is expected to feature a number of technical and visual improvements while retaining the key features of its predecessor.

The official launch date for the Nova 14 has not yet been confirmed, but is expected in the near future.

Huawei recently unveiled its first computer based on the Harmony OS operating system. The HarmonyOS system on the laptop supports applications such as RedNote, Bilibili, and Feishu, and in the future, developers plan to adapt more than 2000 apps.
