Twitch is finally rolling out a live rewind feature that will allow viewers to rewind live streams by a few minutes. This option, which has been long awaited by the platform's fans, can significantly improve the viewing experience, especially for fans of esports and dynamic broadcasts.

Here's What We Know

Until now, if you missed an important moment on Twitch, you had to wait for the VOD version of the broadcast to appear or search for clips, which is not always convenient. Now, according to insider Zach Bassi, the platform is testing the "Rewind the Stream" button, which allows you to go back 2 minutes and watch what you missed in a convenient format.

This feature works like this: when you press the rewind button, the stream goes backwards, and the current broadcast continues to play in a picture-in-picture window above the chat. This way, viewers can simultaneously watch what they have rewound and follow new events in real time.

In addition to rewind, Twitch is testing two other useful buttons: "Remind Me" - a reminder of upcoming broadcasts, and "Watch Trailer" - viewing the trailer of the streamer's channel, if it is available. These innovations are currently available to about a quarter of the platform's audience and are being tested.

It is worth noting that the rewind feature will only work on broadcasts where video-on-demand (VOD) recording is enabled. If the streamer turns this option off, rewind will not be available.
