Huawei FreeBuds 6 with fast charging and 36 hours of battery life available in Europe
Huawei has officially launched FreeBuds 6 in Europe - new fully wireless headphones with an open design similar to FreeBuds 5, but with improved comfort and lightness. Each earbud weighs just 4.9g and the charging case weighs 40.3g.
Here's What We Know
The shape of the headphones is based on ear scans for a perfect fit.
A feature of FreeBuds 6 is the presence of two sound drivers: 11 mm dynamic and ultra-thin flat tweeter, making them the first semi-open headphones with a dual sound system. They support audio playback from 14 Hz to 48 kHz at 48 kHz/24-bit resolution. The sound balance is adjusted in real time based on the earbud's fit in the ear.
The FreeBuds 6 have been tuned by the Central Conservatory of Music and offer classical and balanced sound modes, as well as spatial audio with head tracking. For calls and outdoor use, FreeBuds 6 use bone microphones that reduce noise by up to 95 dB and wind noise by up to 8 m/s. This design helps block out background noise.
An important plus is the battery life: up to 36 hours with the charging case. Fast charging gives you 2.5 hours of operation in 5 minutes of charging. Smart charging extends battery life by 37%. The headphones support touch controls for music, calls, and volume.
The built-in Celia AI assistant provides real-time translation into 21 languages. The headphones also feature a tracking system with an accuracy of up to 50 metres and Bluetooth 5.2 for low latency and simultaneous connection to multiple devices. The water and dust resistance level is IP54.
FreeBuds 6 in Europe cost €159 and are available on Huawei's official online store. In China, they debuted a few months ago for 999 yuan (about $138).
