It looks like things are not as smooth as they seem in the PlayStation camp. According to Bloomberg, Jade Raymond, the founder of Sony-owned Haven Studio, has unexpectedly left the company. The reasons for her departure were not disclosed, but it happened only a few weeks after the testing of the upcoming live service project for PS5 Fairgames, which, according to rumours, caused concerns among some developers about the quality of the game and the pace of its development.

Here's What We Know

Sony officially commented on the situation as follows: "Jade Raymond has been an incredible partner and visionary force in the founding of Haven Studios. We are deeply grateful for her leadership and contributions and wish her all the best in her next chapter." PlayStation also added that it "remains committed to supporting Haven Studios and is enthusiastic about continuing their journey" in game development.

Jade Raymond is known for her work at Ubisoft, where she was involved in the creation of the first Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs titles.

This news raises even more questions about Sony's ambitions in the live games market. Despite the unexpected success of Helldivers 2, the company has already faced the failure of Concord and cancelled several projects from studios that traditionally made single-player games that were supposed to become "service games". Among them, according to rumours, was a God of War spin-off.

Fairgames, developed by Haven Studio, remains one of the last major projects in this direction, and its release is expected in 2026. It is a mystery whether the game will be able to meet the expectations after such a high-profile personnel decision.
