As Death Stranding 2: On the Beach prepares to become one of the major releases of 2025, Hideo Kojima is already making plans for the future. His project Physint is an ambitious stealth action game for Sony, but fans will have to wait at least five to six years for it.

Here's What We Know

Kojima spoke about this in a recent interview with the French edition of Le Film français, an excerpt of which was published by his assistant Ayako Terashima on Twitter. According to the game designer, the development of Physint faced difficulties due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, but the work continues, and the release is expected no earlier than 2030-2031.

"After Death Stranding 2, we are working on Physint. It will take another five or six years. But maybe then I'll finally decide to make a film. I grew up watching films, and directing would be a real tribute to the industry for me," Kojima said.

Physint will be a new intellectual property in the stealth-action genre that Kojima is creating in partnership with Sony. The details of the plot, game mechanics and even the final title are still under wraps, but it is expected that the game will be released on the next generation of consoles - PlayStation 6.

In addition to Physint, Kojima Productions is developing another project in parallel - the horror OD, which is published by Xbox Game Studios. Both games were delayed due to the actors' strike, but the studio has already returned to active work.

After completing Physint, Kojima does not rule out that he will finally fulfil his long-held dream of making a feature film. "I'm not getting any younger, and I would like to do it while I still have the strength," the legendary game designer admitted.
