MSI unveiled the Claw A8, its first portable console with an AMD chip

In addition to the flagship portable gaming console Claw 8 AI+ Polar Tempest Edition, Taiwanese company MSI presented a more affordable version of the gadget at Computex 2025.

Here's What We Know

Claw A8 BZ2EM will be the first model in MSI's lineup to use an AMD chip instead of Intel. The appearance of the device has also undergone changes, it has become more comfortable, but not as stylish as the above model.

Specifications:

  • AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor (8 cores, 16 threads, Zen 5/5c architecture);
  • graphics: Radeon 890M (16 RDNA 3.5 compute units);
  • Windows 11 OS;
  • RAM: 24GB LPDDR5X-8000;
  • 8″ display with 1920×1200p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 500 nits brightness;
  • storage: M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD (2280 format);
  • 80Wh battery;
  • supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, has two USB4 ports with Thunderbolt 4.
  • The weight of the console is 765g.

The console is expected to be released in June.
