New stable System Software 15.31 update is now available for Garmin Fenix 8 and Tactix 8

After an extensive beta testing period, Garmin has officially released stable System Software 15.31 firmware for the Fenix E, Fenix 8, Enduro 3 and Tactix 8 models. The update is now available to users worldwide and is distributed automatically over Wi-Fi.

Here's What We Know

The firmware includes almost 100 changes: 20 new features, 75 bug fixes and several important improvements. Among the most interesting new features are support for Rucking activity, voice control of Applied Ballistics and Flying (on Tactix 8), improved presentation of the Body Battery graph, and a new sunrise/sunset screen in activity mode.

Also added is the ability to customise the vibration pattern for notifications, new sport modes, improved Garmin Coach design for race day and DSW presentation on the calendar.

The fixes include fixes for synchronisation issues, incorrect data display, freezing when using Wi-Fi, incorrect operation of sensors, AirPods, notifications, and many other features.

The update is the final step after the release of beta version 15.31, which hinted at the completion of the stable release.

  • Added a new screen with sunrise/sunset data in activities.
  • Added a page with expedition point details in sailing mode.
  • Added vibration template settings for notifications.
  • Added "View Run" option for water sports.
  • Added voice control for Applied Ballistics and aviation applications (Tactix).
  • Added voice support for Jumpmaster, Plan Dive, Reference Point, and Trolling Motor.
  • Added support for wrist detection for the password if optical heart rate measurement is disabled.
