From Obsidian to Netflix Games: Avowed game director Kerry Patel to lead Night School studio
One of Netflix Games' divisions has a valuable addition - Night School studio will be headed by experienced screenwriter Carrie Patel.
Here's What We Know
Carrie Patel's last work to date was the role-playing game Avowed, the development of which she led in the studio Obsidian Entertainment. And today the game director announced that after twelve years of work in Obsidian she decided to leave the team and join the studio Night School, owned by Netflix Games.

In addition to her work on Avowed, Kerry Patel is best known for the Pillars of Eternity game, for which she wrote the screenplay (and won the Nebula Literary Award), and after that she was the lead writer for the space satire RPG The Outer Worlds.
Night School Studios can't yet match Obsidian Entertainment in terms of prominence, its best known games being Oxenfree and Oxenfree II: Lost Signals.
There's no doubt that Night School can excel under Kerry Patel's leadership, butNetflix Games' working style is alarming, as the company favours creativity and creative vision over generative AI.
