Despite Obsidian Entertainment's ambitious plans for Avowed, its director Carrie Patel (Carrie Patel) is leaving the project. In her LinkedIn post, she confirmed that after 12 years at Obsidian, she was moving to Night School Studio, a subsidiary of Netflix known for the Oxenfree series.

Here's What We Know

At the new studio, Patel will hold the position of game director, although it is not yet known what project she will work on. During her time at Obsidian, she was a writer for Pillars of Eternity, a narrative designer for The Outer Worlds, and a director of the Peril on Gorgon DLC. After a series of personnel changes and a difficult period of Avowed development, she took over the game's team.

As for Avowed itself, a recent update added a mode for people with arachnophobia and improved the reactive system. The next major update will be released in the summer, with new skills for NPCs, personalised map markers, advanced player skills, and more. In autumn, even more is expected - New Game Plus mode, photo mode, a new type of weapon, and other improvements.
