Quiet price increase: Rockstar Games has quietly raised the cost of Red Dead Redemption and RDR2
Wild West fans, get your wallets ready. In the UK and other countries, the prices of Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2 have been slowly but surely rising on the PlayStation Store. Over the past few weeks, the price of the first part has jumped by £10, and its sequel by £5. This is surprising because we are talking about games that have been released for a long time.
Here's What We Know
A simple port of Red Dead Redemption for PS4 originally cost £40, but now it is priced at £50 on the PS Store. Similarly, Red Dead Redemption 2, which has been priced at £55 since at least June 2021, has risen to £59 over the past week. Data from PS Prices confirms these changes.
It makes sense that with the rise in prices for individual games, the bundle of both titles has also gone up. It now costs £100, although previously it was available for £85. According to Pure Xbox, price increases for Xbox versions are also observed in Brazil, the Czech Republic, and Chile, and according to Reddit, countries such as Japan, Sweden, Norway, and South Africa have also faced price increases. In Mexico and Switzerland, on the other hand, prices have fallen, and in the Czech Republic, the decline only applies to Xbox, as the price of PlayStation was already lower.
However, it is not yet known what this is due to and what Rockstar has come up with.
