Neil Druckmann comments on the possibility of The Last of Us: Part 3: "If we go back to it, it has to be a franchise-worthy story"
The creative director of The Last of Us franchise, Neil Druckmann, finally answered the question about the possibility of creating the third part of the game. He stressed that it is important for him not only to continue the series but also to create stories that truly deserve the name The Last of Us.
Here's What We Know
Neil Druckmann reiterated his position, which he previously expressed in a documentary about the franchise. He stressed that he does not want to release another part just for the sake of continuation. For him, it is important that each new project is carefully thought out and meets high quality standards - as was the case with the HBO series and other franchise initiatives.
"If we ever get back to it, I want to make sure it's a story worthy of The Last of Us," said Druckmann, "I love the world and the characters, and if the right idea comes along, I'd love to be involved.
There have been no official announcements so far, but Druckmann's words give hope that the possibility of The Last of Us: Part 3 remains alive.
As a reminder, the studio is currently working on Intergalactic and the game promises the deepest gameplay in the studio's history and a unique experience of loneliness.
