Geralt's voice is angry with fans who call The Witcher 4 "woke" and advises to read the books
Doug Cockle, the voice of Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher, has sharply criticised players who call The Witcher 4 "politically correct" because Ciri will be the main character.
Here's What We Know
Last year, CD Projekt Red announced the next game in the series and its main character. However, some players have already criticised the studio, accusing it of "political correctness" for choosing a female protagonist.
"It's just stupid," said Cockle, "There's nothing 'politically correct' about it.
He continued: "Ciri is a cool character from The Witcher, and they're going to focus on that character. I think that's great. We can't have Geralt in every 'Witcher' game ad nauseum, forever. Besides, we've seen the end of Geralt's journey."
He also added that fans of the game should read the books.
"If you've read the books, you'll understand why CD Projekt went this route," said Kokl. "There's a whole rich world to explore with Ciri, which they didn't do when they introduced her in The Witcher 3 because the story was about Geralt. If you think that's 'politically correct', read the damn books!"
Earlier this year, the studio announced that it does not plan to release The Witcher 4 until the end of 2026, meaning that the game could be released on the next generation of consoles.
