The post-apocalyptic RPG-shooter Atomfall was released on 27 March 2025 and seems to have gone unnoticed by the general public, but the developers reported that the game was still successful.

Here's What We Know

Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley revealed in a podcast on The Game Business that Atomfall has attracted 2 million players. He said that the partnership with Microsoft had proved fruitful and the addition of the shooter to Xbox Game Pass provided the creators with guaranteed revenue, as well as increased recognition of the novel, which is critical for a new IP.

Kingsley said that given Atomfall's strong performance, the company wants to pursue development of a sequel, but that decision will depend on whether additional funding can be raised, as Rebellion itself is short on funds.
