Legendary strategy returns: Relic announced Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Definitive Edition

At the presentation of Warhammer Skulls Showcase 2025 studio Relic Entertainment made an announcement, which is sure to please not only fans of the Warhammer franchise, but also fans of classic strategies.

Here's What We Know

The Canadian developer presented a remaster of the famous strategy Warhammer 40 000: Dawn of War, which was released in 2004 and is still considered not only one of the best games of the franchise, but also among all RTS.

The re-release will be called Definitive Edition and will offer gamers improved graphics, high-resolution textures, modern lighting, convenient camera, improved character models and other technical innovations. The game will have a mod manager, which will allow you to easily install and share modifications.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War will again feature nine classic factions, four story campaigns, multiplayer mode (team and single player). The updated game will include all the released expansions, Winter Assault, Dark Crusade, and Soulstorm.

When We Can Expect It

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Definitive Edition will be released on Steam and GOG later this year, the exact date is still unknown.
