It's official: the Nothing Phone (1) will not be getting Android 16

Nothing has announced that Nothing Phone (1) users can't expect Android 16.

Here's What We Know

The UK-based company has honoured its commitments and released three major updates to the Nothing Phone (1) operating system. Next, Nothing will not improve the OS of its gadget, as reported by the Android Authority portal. Going forward, only security patches will be released and Android 16 will be available on more current models.

This decision is not surprising as Phone (1) was released in 2022 and started its journey back with Android 13.

Those wishing to update the gadget are reminded that already in July will be the presentation of the flagship Nothing Phone (3), in which the manufacturer is set to bring all elements to a new level, equip it with the best components, significantly increase performance, improve security and make the Nothing Phone (3) as user-friendly as possible.

The Nothing Phone (3) will get an updated yet recognisable design with a large camera unit and circular backlighting around it, a powerful processor and an improved display are promised, although no technical details have been announced.
