Star Wars Battlefront II, a game released in 2017, is suddenly experiencing a new wave of popularity: according to SteamDB, the number of simultaneous players on Valve's platform began to grow sharply in May, reaching over 9.7 thousand, which is almost equal to the peak of 10,489 players in 2019.

Here's What We Know

Of course, this surge of attention to the game did not go unnoticed: former Mats developer Mats Helge Holm wrote on Reddit that he would like to work on the game again and even possibly involve his former colleagues. Holm also mentioned Dennis Brännvall, the game's creative director, who will be difficult to bring back.

Here's What We Know

The last major update for Star Wars Battlefront 2, The Battle of Scarif, was released back in 2020. Since then, the official support for the game has ended, but who knows, perhaps the growing fan base and a sense of nostalgia can open a second wind for the project or its potential successor.

Where To Play

Star Wars Battlefront II is available to play on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, as well as Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility.
