Capcom expansion: the Japanese gaming giant is preparing a new mega-office in Osaka
In a world where many gaming companies are announcing layoffs and reassessing priorities, Capcom continues to grow and expand steadily. The Japanese giant is planning to significantly strengthen its game development capabilities by building a new base next to its current headquarters in Osaka.
Here's What We Know
The new building, according to the company, will be completed in 2027, as it was discussed at the financial conference this week (Gamebiz.jp). In addition, Capcom intends to purchase land nearby to build another future base.
Capcom already has several buildings in its hometown of Osaka, but the new base will allow it to continue to grow by 100 employees every year. This is a significant move that goes against the layoff trends seen at other major game studios.
Earlier this month, Capcom announced another record financial year in its latest earnings report. The company reported that its core video game business sold 51.87 million units (games) last year, an increase of more than 5 million units from the previous year.
