Motorola is preparing to unveil the Moto G96 5G, a stylish and powerful entry-level smartphone that has already been revealed in renders and details. The new product is expected to make its debut later this year.

Here's What We Know

The smartphone will have a vegan leather body in four colours: Cattleya Orchid (lavender), Dresden Blue, Greener Pastures (green) and Ashleigh Blue. The design is part of a partnership with PANTONE, which adds a recognisable style to the device.

Inside, there's a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip, 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. This is a significant upgrade for the G series. The 5500 mAh battery promises a long operating time.

On the back is a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 700C main camera and an 8-megapixel macro camera. The front camera is 32 megapixels. The display is a 6.67-inch pOLED with curved edges, 144Hz refresh rate and support for Water Touch 2.0.

The Moto G96 5G will ship with Android 15 and support Lenovo's proprietary Smart Connect feature for connecting to Lenovo PCs. The expected price is around ₹22,990 (approximately $270).

Sales are likely to start in Asia, as it is there that models with digital indices in the name traditionally appear.

Motorola and Perplexity have announced a partnership under which Perplexity's artificial intelligence will be pre-installed on Motorola smartphones. The first devices with the integrated application will be the new Razr (2025), Razr+ (2025), and Razr Ultra models.
