German drone manufacturer Quantum Systems now manufactures all fuselage parts for Vector drones directly in Ukraine. In addition to localisation, the engineers also managed to improve the UAV's performance.

Here's What We Know

Quantum Systems announced the localisation of production during the European Defence Tech Hackathon held in Lviv at the end of May. So far, only the assembly of drones has taken place in Ukraine, but all fuselage components are already being manufactured here.

"We already have full production of 100% of all fuselage parts, which are manufactured here in Ukraine," said Dmytro Gorlin, technical director of the company's Ukrainian division.

According to him, thanks to local experience, the hulls were made even better, namely more reliable and lighter.

"On the positive side, it's the strength of the materials, which we managed to achieve better results in Ukraine, and the lighter weight," he said. This means a weight reduction of almost 250 grams, which allows adding a new payload.

Currently, Quantum Systems is testing new electronics for Vector: acoustic sensors, artificial intelligence with a more powerful processor, 360° cameras, and a visual navigation system that works both day and night.

In short, Ukraine is the main user of Vector drones in combat, and this actively stimulates interest in them from other countries. Orders have already been received from Australia, Romania, Spain, the United States, and several other countries where drones are being tendered.
