After almost two years of beta testing in TestFlight, WhatsApp seems to be preparing to finally launch a full version of its iPad app.

Here's What We Know

The messenger's official X (formerly Twitter) account hinted at this by replying with an eye emoji to a post that mentioned users' desire to see the app on Apple's tablet.

WhatsApp is currently available for iPhone and Mac, but there is still no official iPad client, despite high demand. TestFlight participants have been testing early versions of the app on tablets for a long time, so a public release may be coming soon.

Recently, there were reports that Meta is also developing an Instagram app for iPad. Facebook already has a separate app for tablets, while Threads is still only available for iPhone.

The possible launch of WhatsApp for iPad shows that Meta has finally paid attention to the needs of iPad owners and is expanding support for its most popular services to more Apple devices.

WhatsApp remains one of the three most popular communication apps with a monthly audience of over 3 billion people. This news was shared by Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, as part of the discussion of the first quarter of 2025. WhatsApp is one of Meta's most important assets. The company acquired the app in 2014 for $19 billion.
