Bandai Namco and FromSoftware Studios have unveiled an incredibly atmospheric release trailer for Elden Ring Nightreign, an experimental co-operative game.

Here's What We Know

The developers showed several gloomy locations and powerful bosses that players will face.

The authors didn't forget about eight characters available in Elden Ring Nightreign. Gamers will be able to choose Wylder, Revenant, Recluse, Raider, Ironeye, Guardian, Executor and Duchess - each of them has an individual set of skills and equipment, their own backstory and storyline.

The heroes must take the fight to the Night Lords in order for the dawn to finally break.

Fans of hardcore gameplay will be able to start playing Elden Ring Nightreign as early as midnight (CEST) on 30 May for PlayStation, Xbox and PC users.

Flashback

Elden Ring: Nightreign is a game designed for one or three players. Its events are set in an alternate version of The Lands Between, on a small part of it, and the locations will look slightly different than in the original Elden Ring.

Nightreign's concept combines genres such as souls-like, roguelike and partly Battle royal. Before a match begins, players choose one of eight unique characters and begin exploring locations in search of enemies and valuable equipment. Gameplay is divided into two cycles: during the day players fight weak enemies and get runes to strengthen their heroes, and at night they have to fight dangerous bosses.

The ultimate goal of each expedition is to survive three nights and defeat the final boss, which is chosen before the match starts, and some of them are "guests" from other FromSoftware games.

Each session lasts 30-40 minutes. Each character has unique abilities and a prescribed storyline that will be revealed between matches in hub locations.
