Forget iOS 19: Apple's new firmware will be called iOS 26 and will usher in a new number system
For several months, the media has been actively discussing the iOS 19 update, which will bring huge changes to the interface and overall design of Apple's mobile operating system. But Bloomberg publication has shared some unexpected news that will have a big impact on the entire ecosystem of the American giant.
Here's What We Know
Authoritative insider and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman reported that at the WWDC conference Apple will indeed present information about a major update to its OS, but not on the 19th, but ... 26th!
Gurman learned that the corporation will change the numbering system of updates in order to simplify the orientation of users and will switch it to an annual designation.
Thus, in June 2025, iOS 26 will be introduced instead of the expected iOS 19, as well as macOS 26, iPadOS 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26 and visionOS 26.
All details will be announced at WWDC, which will be held from 9 to 13 June.
