Galaxy Watch 4 received a major March security patch in Europe
Samsung has started rolling out the March 2025 security update for the Galaxy Watch 4 in Europe. It's a large update, about 450MB in size, but it only contains a new patch with no additional features or performance improvements.
Here's What We Know
The new software is available for Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic models with different firmware versions for LTE and non-LTE variants. Smartwatch owners can install the update via the Wearable app on their smartphone by going to the watch settings and selecting "Software update".
The Galaxy Watch 4 was released in August 2021 with One UI 3 Watch based on Wear OS 3. Since then, the devices have received several major UI updates: One UI 4.5 Watch (Wear OS 3.5) in August 2022, One UI 5 Watch (Wear OS 4) in August 2023, and One UI 6 Watch (Wear OS 5) with new features in mid-2024.
It is not yet known whether the Galaxy Watch 4 series will receive an update to the One UI 8 Watch based on Wear OS 6. If so, this will be the last major update for these models.
It is worth noting that Samsung has officially launched the One UI 8 beta programme based on Android 16. Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra users in South Korea, the US, Germany, and the UK will be the first to test the new shell. The beta is expected to become available in other regions soon.
