Ukraine has destroyed over 4000 Russian tanks in three years - Oryx
Analysts from the Oryx project have recorded more than 4,000 destroyed or damaged Russian tanks in the war against Ukraine, based on photo and video evidence alone.
Here's What We Know
The Oryx group of analysts, which has been documenting the loss of Russian equipment since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022, reported that Russia has lost more than 4,000 tanks. The count includes only those vehicles that have been destroyed, abandoned or captured and for which there is visual evidence.
Analysts clarify that their database does not cover all losses, so the real figure is likely to be much higher. Vehicles that could not be identified correctly are not included in the statistics. If a tank is captured and subsequently destroyed, it is recorded only as a loss to the Russian army to avoid double counting.

According to Oryx, by 2022, Russian forces have already lost at least 50 tanks in the war against Ukraine since 2014. The total number of Russian equipment losses documented by Oryx exceeds 22,000 units. This includes armoured vehicles, artillery, aircraft and other weapons.
Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provides even higher estimates: as of 29 May, Russia's losses amounted to 10,864 tanks and 22,645 other armoured vehicles.
