Build A Rocket Boy is preparing a new franchise for us - MindsEye is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC on 10 June. The founder of the studio, Leslie Benzis (ex-GTA producer), shared details about the ambitious plans and unique approach to the game's development: no "water", only meaningful content and a long-term strategy for ten years.

Here's What We Know

In a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Leslie Benzis said that MindsEye is only the first step in the studio's ambitious ten-year plan. Players will be able to enjoy constant content updates: some of the activities will be created for fun, and most of them will be integrated into the main storyline. According to Benzis, after completing the entire big story, players will get a complete picture of the MindsEye universe.

A special emphasis is placed on multiplayer and open world. Build A Rocket Boy aims to give players simple tools to create their own adventures: they will be able to explore the world, build missions on the go, and eventually even assemble their own open-world game from hundreds of mini-quests. The studio also plans to actively support and promote the most interesting user-generated content so that it becomes part of the overall experience.

The story of MindsEye is only the central part of a much larger story mosaic. Benzis is intrigued: "We're going to go 10,000 years into the past, then into the future. MindsEye is a key piece that will make players think about the scale of the universe." That is why the studio does not show many gameplay fragments yet to avoid spoilers, but promises unexpected plot twists.

A special emphasis is placed on social features. Build A Rocket Boy wants to create not only a game, but also a space for communication, joint creativity, and interaction. Next year, after the release of MindsEye, the studio plans to release a multiplayer open-world project that takes place a year after the events of the main game. And between these releases, players will have another open world to explore freely.

However, sometimes it happens that authors make ambitious statements before the release of a new project, and then it all falls through, so let's see what fate awaits MindsEye.
