The fastest Bentley Bentayga has lost four cylinders but learnt to drift at the touch of a button
Bentley today unveiled the most powerful production Bentayga yet. It's called the Bentayga Speed and under the bonnet hides a 650bhp twin-turbocharged V8 engine in place of the previous W12 motor.
Here's What We Know
Along with the extra power, Bentley has redesigned the chassis for the 2026 model year for sharper handling. The company now claims the Bentayga can go into a controlled skid at the touch of a button.
The Bentayga Speed gets an upgraded 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The powertrain produces 650 hp (478 kW) and 850 Nm of torque. This is 15 hp more than the previous one, although it falls 50 Nm short of the old W12. The motor is also behind the Continental GT Speed and Flying Spur Speed hybrid units by 130bhp and 150Nm.
Despite not being the most powerful model in Bentley's line-up, the updated Bentayga Speed is faster than its predecessor. It takes three tenths of a second less than its predecessor to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.
Bentley Bentayga Speed characteristics:
- 0-100 km/h acceleration: 3.6 seconds
- Top speed: 310 km/h (193 mph)
Bentley engineers have also redesigned the chassis, calling it the most dynamic setup ever fitted to a Bentayga. This claim is based on a new Sport mode that delivers sharper steering response and 15 per cent stiffer dampers. Opt for carbon-ceramic brakes and you'll have access to the ESC Dynamic setting, which Bentley says delivers "thrilling drift angles or oversteer while delivering power where appropriate".
If the sound of the V8 is a concern, Bentley offers an Akrapovic titanium exhaust system with four pipes instead of the standard twin elliptical tailpipes.
Despite the important changes under the skin, the exterior of the Bentley Bentayga 2025 looks almost identical to the 2021 model. A closer look reveals minor changes such as new wheels available in 22-inch and 23-inch versions, blacked-out headlights, clear taillights and new ADAS sensors on the front bumper.
The Bentayga Speed 2025 is already on sale in the UK with a starting price of £219,000 (about $296,100). Naturally, that price could rise quickly with the addition of options, not to mention personalised versions from Bentley's Mulliner division.
