Here's What We Know
The German grocery discounter is making its logistics in Italy more sustainable. Together with Italian transport company LC3 Trasporti, Lidl Italia recently received its first eActros 600 from Mercedes-Benz Trucks. The tractor and semi-trailer are adorned with a special livery that visually emphasises the partnership between the three companies.
LC3 Trasporti has ordered a total of 30 eActros 600, making it one of the first companies in Europe to opt for an all-electric fleet for long-haul transport.
Although the eActros 600 only celebrated the start of series production at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth at the end of November last year and the first electric trucks were delivered to customers in December, the vehicle already feels like an old familiarity. After all, it is regularly in the news. For example, Amazon has ordered around 200 units of the eActros 600. In addition, transport companies such as Hödlmayr, Brummer Logistik and WP are among the new customers.

Lidl itself has long been active in electric mobility. The company installs chargers in the car parks of its shops and also uses electric trucks in a number of countries, including Austria, the Netherlands and Sweden.
