Ford re-recalls thousands of vehicles due to improperly performed maintenance

Ford Motor Company several thousand vehicles in the US that were not properly repaired during previous recalls. Two separate service campaigns affect the Ford Transit, as well as the Lincoln Aviator and Corsair.

Here's What We Know

Ford Motor is recalling 6,733 vehicles in the US. This is the company's 59th recall this year, which is approaching a record high. By comparison, Volkswagen in second place has only 15 recalls since the beginning of the year.

First recall: Lincoln Aviator and Corsair (2020-2023). Affected are 3,227 vehicles with the Revel audio system. Due to incorrect software, the unfastened seat belt warning system beeps for less than four seconds instead of the required time. Dealers will install updated software for the audio system control module.

Second recall: Ford Transit (2022-2023). Affected 3,506 vans with a similar problem - incorrect software installed during a previous repair. The backlighting of the dashboard scales may not work or incorrect fault warnings may appear. In this case, everything is also treated by updating the software at the dealership.
