When the bottom is broken: Call of Duty managed to sell the purchase of skins directly in the inventory menu
If you thought that microtransactions had already reached the point of absurdity, here's a new gimmick. The latest season 4 update for Black Ops 6 has brought not only new content but also a new place to advertise paid weapons - right in the Create Class menu.
Here's What We Know
From now on, when you are browsing for weapons for your gear, an advert will sometimes appear between the "Create New Gear" option and your currently configured weapons. Over the years, the Call of Duty franchise has been criticised for its somewhat clunky menu system, and now there's a whole ad block to scroll through.
Here's one example of an advert from Reddit that advertises bandles that can cost up to $30:

Such adverts are not new in the world of free-to-play games. However, the example above is taken from the paid game Black Ops 6, which costs $70. Considering that some previous microtransactions included AI-generated assets, this was the last straw for some players.
