Insider Shinobi602 has dropped a hint of a potentially imminent official confirmation of the long-awaited PlayStation State of Play presentation in June 2025. Sony usually hosts an online stream in May to give PlayStation fans a glimpse into the world of games they can expect in the second half of the year, and while there was nothing in May, the company could make up for it in June.

Here's What We Know

Back in February, Sony held a State of Play to set the tone for 2025. Then another State of Play took place on 30 April, dedicated to Borderlands 4. However, the question of a bigger summer State of Play has been in the air for some time, and the answer to it may come very soon.

Rumours of a June 2025 State of Play started to surface a few weeks ago, and now it seems that the event could be happening in the coming days. On ResetEra, a reliable industry insider Shinobi602 recently hinted at the announcement of a new State of Play that will take place tomorrow, June 3. Responding to a user who commented: "Tomorrow is my birthday, so obviously that's when Sony will announce State of Play," Shinobi602 slyly wrote "Happy Birthday" with a smiley face emoji.

While this statement seems innocent, it's worth noting that Shinobi602 doesn't often post on ResetEra unless it's a hint of an upcoming PlayStation-related announcement, and responding to a comment that explicitly mentions the June 2025 State of Play seems all the more deliberate. In addition, State of Play announcements were almost always made on a Tuesday, followed by the live broadcast itself on either Wednesday or Thursday. Judging by this pattern, the upcoming State of Play can be expected on 4 or 5 June.
