Galaxy Fold 7 and Flip 7 may not rise in price - at least in the US
According to insiders, Samsung is planning to introduce new foldable smartphones Galaxy Fold 7 and Flip 7 at the same price as the previous generation - at least in the US. This was reported by the user @PandaFlashPro on Twitter/X.
Here's What We Know
According to him, the new models will cost the same as Galaxy Fold 6 and Flip 6. Only in "some" countries prices may rise, but for most regions the cost will remain unchanged. However, the final decision may change closer to the launch.
It is worth noting that these rumours do not take into account the possibility of imposing duties. Earlier, former US President Donald Trump proposed to impose a 25% duty on Samsung devices manufactured outside the US. If such duties come into effect, it could lead to a 30-40% price increase.
It is not yet known whether these duties will actually be introduced. But if not, US customers can expect to see their current prices remain the same.
The Galaxy Fold 7 and Flip 7 are expected to be unveiled in July at the Samsung Unpacked summer event.
It should be noted that the Galaxy Flip 7 may be released in the US with the Exynos 2500 chip. The information about the Exynos chip in the Galaxy Flip 7 appeared after the discovery of firmware that mentions this particular processor. If confirmed officially, the Flip7 will be Samsung's first foldable smartphone with its own Exynos chip to go beyond the home market.
The new Fold 7 could be twice as thin as the first Galaxy Fold. The new product will be almost twice as thin as the original Galaxy Fold and 4 mm thinner than last year's model.
