Really!!! Cyberpunk 2077 may get a second addition after all
Many gamers will remember that during Cyberpunk 2077's grand advertising campaign, CD Projekt RED promised incredibly large pre-release support that would include over a dozen DLCs, but those plans didn't come to fruition due to the game's failed release, which took three years to fix.
In the end, Cyberpunk 2077 only received one expansion, Phantom Liberty.
Here's What We Know
Potentially-interesting information has surfaced online that Cyberpunk 2077 may still get a second expansion, contrary to the developers' claims.
A Reddit user under the nickname Free_Carpenter151 discovered a curious item on Linkedin in the portfolio of narrative designer Doug Van Horne of Virtuos Studios, who previously worked on the 2.2 patch for Cyberpunk.
In it, the developer indicated that he has been a senior writer for some DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 since April 2025. Of course, as soon as this information was widely available, Van Horn removed mention of it, but the screenshot didn't go anywhere.
Van Horn's responsibilities include:
- Analyzing the voices of existing Cyberpunk 2077 characters to write dialogue for several new quests;
- coordinating with a narrative designer to write and finalise side quests in the DLC;
- working with an English language adaptation specialist using the Red Engine toolkit to make in-game text and dialogue conform to Cyberpunk's Anglo-American standards.
Gamers are hoping that the authors of the TES IV: Oblivion remaster and the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater will revive the very story add-on in which the protagonist was supposed to go to the Moon Station - it was logically connected to one of the Cyberpunk 2077 endings, but never came out.
Tomorrow (5 June) at 17:00 (CEST) there will be a stream dedicated to the release of Cyberpunk 2077 on Nintendo Switch 2 and there's a minimal chance that information about the said DLC will be heard there.
