Get ready for new space adventures, as Hello Games is preparing a real gift for No Man's Sky fans. The developers have announced No Man's Sky Switch 2 Edition with a video that reveals improvements over the original Switch port.

Here's What We Know

Players who already have No Man's Sky on the original Switch will immediately notice a significant visual update. The Switch 2 version of the game features improved frame rates, 4K texture support, and a crisper user interface, in addition to support for the Switch 2's touchscreen and gyroscopic controls. What's more, No Man's Sky will now have full multiplayer on Switch 2.

"With the original Switch, we pushed the envelope," explains Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray in the video. "No Man's Sky on Switch 2 is a huge step forward. The extra power allows us to add full multiplayer to Switch 2 for the first time. Cross-saving and cross-play will be available from day one, giving players a seamless experience across all devices."

The Switch 2 Edition launches alongside No Man's Sky's new free update, Beacon. One of the new additions in Beacon is the ability to create and control robot cities, which Murray said would not have been possible with the original Switch. He also noted that the Switch 2 version is launching with a nine-year history of No Man's Sky updates and support, including all previous major expansions and improvements.

And most importantly, players who already own No Man's Sky for Switch can upgrade to Switch 2 for free.

No Man's Sky Switch 2 Edition will be released on 5 June as one of the launch titles for Nintendo's new system.
