It's an all-time record, with Nintendo Switch 2 sales topping 3 million units in its first 24 hours

Analysts have been predicting the Nintendo Switch 2 to have the most successful launch in the history of gaming consoles and the first insider information fully confirms it.

Here's What We Know

Nintendo Switch 2 sales launched on 5 June and in the first 24 hours, according to a Nintendo Prime insider, it sold over 3 million units, an all-time record for consoles.

The previous record belonged to the PS4, but it only had 1 million in its first 24 hours, and Sony's platform didn't get close to the 4.5 million mark until the end of its second month.

The insider believes that in the near future Switch 2 will surpass and this figure.

Earlier in the media there was information that Nintendo plans to sell 20 million devices by the end of the current fiscal year (by 31 March 2026).
