AirPods can now record studio sound and control the camera
At the WWDC 2025 conference, Apple introduced new features for its wireless headphones - AirPods 4, AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and AirPods Pro 2.
Here's What We Know
One of the main innovations is support for studio-quality sound recording. This feature will allow you to create high-quality audio content on the go, for example, for interviews, podcasts, or music recordings. With Voice Isolation technology, the headphones better filter out background noise, preserving the clarity and natural sound of the voice.
Apple has also improved the quality of voice calls in iPhone, FaceTime, and third-party applications that support CallKit. According to the company, users will experience a more natural voice texture and clearer sound.
Another new feature is remote camera control. Now, when using the Camera app or a compatible third-party app on an iPhone or iPad, users can simply press and hold the AirPods foot to take a photo or start recording a video, and hold it again to stop recording.
All these innovations will be available next month as part of the Apple Beta Software Programme. Officially, the features will appear in iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe 26.
It is worth noting that Apple announced a delay in the launch of new Siri features. The company also notes that for the personalised Siri to work fully, you will need an iPhone with Apple Intelligence support.
