Volkswagen has launched a special Polo Edition 50 for the model's 50th anniversary

Volkswagen has unveiled the Polo Edition 50 in honour of the model's half-century anniversary. The special version is based on the Style configuration with additional equipment.

Exterior differences:

• 16-inch Coventry discs (optional 17-inch Torosa)
• Tinted rear windows
• Large "50" badge on the centre pillar

Interior:

• "Edition 50" lettering on sill plates;
• "50" on the steering wheel and the glossy part of the front panel in front of the passenger;
• Ambient lighting;
• Black headliner, chrome pedals;
• Heated sport seats;
• Leather steering wheel, reversing camera;
• Parking and lane change assistants;
• Discover Media multimedia system with internet connectivity.

Engines:

• Petrol, 70 kW (95 hp) combined with manual or DSG transmission;
• Petrol, 85 kW (116 hp) paired with DSG.

The optional Plus package adds a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control and keyless entry.

Pre-sales of the Polo Edition 50 start tomorrow, Thursday. The base model, the Polo Edition 50 with a 95bhp engine and manual transmission is available in Germany with prices starting at 28,200 euros.
