16GB of RAM and AMD's powerful APU: Insider reveals technical details of Sony's new handheld console
Kepler L2 insider has revealed interesting technical details about Sony's new handheld console.
Earlier, another source reported that the gadget was working name Project Jupiter and is based on a custom chip from AMD.
Here's What We Know
Kepler L2 revealed that the portable PlayStation will get 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a powerful single-chip APU processor from AMD, which will support AI image scaling technology. We're most likely talking about the PSSR upscaler, which debuted in the PS5 Pro and performed well.
KeplerL2 has information that Sony's new handheld will have reduced memory bandwidth compared to the PS5, but more cache: 4MB L2 and 16MB MALL (Infinity Cache).
Like the full-fledged PlayStation 6, the handheld console will be built on the gfx13 graphics architecture and will use AMD RDNA 5/UDNA.
The handheld console is expected to be released in 2029.
