Capcom spares no expense: Resident Evil Requiem received the highest budget in the publisher's history
Fans have been waiting for Resident Evil 9 announcement for a long time and finally at Summer Game Fest it was announced: Capcom presented the debut trailer of the game with the subtitle Requiem.
The trailer didn't show gameplay footage, but there's no doubt that the Japanese developer will release a great game, as it never saves on its projects, and the insider information only confirmed it.
Here's What We Know
Well-known insider Dusk Golem reported that Capcom is betting big on Resident Evil Requiem and the team that is developing the horror game has been given a record budget for the publisher. Exact figures have not been disclosed, but they are likely in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
Message Dusk Golem
Recall, in the centre of the plot of Resident Evil Requiem will be Grace Ashcroft - a girl who was kidnapped by the Baker family in Resident Evil 7, and now she is an FBI agent and must deal with the events. Players will return to Raccoon City, which was left only in ruins, and even visit the famous police station, where the events of Resident Evil 2 unfolded. It is known that there will be one more central character in the game, probably it will be Leon Kennedy.
When We Can Expect It
Resident Evil Requiem will be released on 27 February 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
Visitors to gamescom 2025, which will be held from 20 to 24 August in Cologne, Germany, will be able to try out a demo of Resident Evil Requiem.
