The analytical agency IDC has analysed the global wearable devices market for the first quarter of 2025 and identified the leaders in this segment.

Here's What We Know

IDC experts stated that the global market for wrist-worn devices (Smart watches and fitness bracelets) grew by 10.5% in the first quarter of the current fiscal year and reached 45.57 million units as of June.

The largest growth was recorded in the Chinese market, where government subsidies fuelled a 37.6 per cent increase in shipments. Growth is also seen in Western Europe, the US, Latin America and Asia Pacific.

Leading the global market for wearable devices was Huawei, which significantly increased shipments thanks to the launch of its new Huawei Band 10 wristband.

Analysts noted that Apple achieved its highest annual shipment growth in 23 years, helped by subsidies in China and outpacing purchases in the US. Samsung, on the other hand, saw a slight decline in shipments due to competition from Chinese manufacturers, while Garmin strengthened its position by expanding its line of professional sports watches.
