Reputable insider Jez Corden has shared some interesting news about the next-gen Xbox, and some of his data contradicts statements from other sources.

Here's What We Know

On air on The Xbox Two podcast, Corden stated with 99.9% certainty that the next generation of Xbox consoles will get backwards compatibility with games for Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox Series. And the support will not be realised through software emulation, but directly by hardware compatibility.

The informant also debunked the words of his colleagues and the assumptions of many gamers that the new Xbox will be rather sharpened for gaming PC, rather than the usual console - it is not true.

The console is expected to go on sale in 2027 or 2028, with respected journalist Tom Henderson suggesting it will be Microsoft's last home gaming platform as the company focuses on creating a digital ecosystem where it won't matter what console a gamer uses.
