Rumours about the future of the Red Dead Redemption franchise have been circulating for a long time, but now they have reached their peak thanks to cryptic hints from the voice actors. It seems that Rockstar Games is preparing something really big, and we may find out the details very soon.

Here's What We Know

This week, the intrigue around Red Dead Redemption has reached its maximum. First, voice actor Rob Wiethoff, the voice of John Marston from Red Dead Redemption 2, hinted at an upcoming announcement, saying that "something" would be announced "definitely by Friday" this week. He was quite cryptic, refusing to comment further.

But now he's been joined by Roger Clark, who lent his voice to the iconic Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2. In response to a post on social media asking about Red Dead news, Clark simply replied with a GIF of a mysterious dog and the word "Yes". As VGC noticed, the voice actor of Charlie, Roshir Dalal, also posted similar cryptic GIFs.

There is currently no official confirmation of what this news is, but rumours point to various possibilities, from an update to Red Dead Redemption 2 for the current generation of consoles to a port for Nintendo Switch 2, which will allow this hugely popular game to reach an even wider audience. These likely versions are expected to be released sometime between late summer and early autumn.

Since its original release on PS4 and Xbox One in 2018 and the PC version in 2019, Red Dead Redemption 2 has been an incredible success for Rockstar Games. In addition to receiving praise from critics and players from around the world, the game has also sold over 74 million copies as of May this year. This ultimately pushed the combined sales of the entire Red Dead franchise to over 100 million copies.
