Nissan has turned the huge Armada SUV into a sports car
Nissan has unveiled in the US a version of its flagship Armada SUV in NISMO Sport trim with 460 horsepower under the bonnet.
Here's What We Know
The main feature of the novelty is a refined biturbo V6 engine with a capacity of 3.5 litres. NISMO engineers squeezed 460 horsepower and 699 Nm of torque out of it. That's 35 more horsepower than the regular Armada.
The powerful motor is accompanied by a sports exhaust system with a "more expressive" sound. To make sure that the driver and passengers hear it, an active amplification system has been installed. It specially emphasises the roar of exhaust pipes in the saloon.
The suspension was also redesigned - it was made more sporty. The steering was also reconfigured for more thrilling sensations. 22-inch forged rims are shoeed in high-performance tyres, and brake calipers are painted in red.
The design of the Armada NISMO is specific. The front part was completely redesigned: a high grille and a new bumper with vertical air ducts. Red accents, NISMO badges and front splitter were added. The fog lights are also original, as are the side running boards. At the rear, a new bumper with a spectacular diffuser has been fitted.
Buyers will be able to choose from several exclusive colours: NISMO Stealth Gray (metallic grey), the same colour with black roof or Black Diamond Pearl (black pearl).
Inside, the changes look more restrained. Black leather seats with red rhombic inserts, red contrast stitching and aluminium pedal pads have been added. The front seats received adjustable side rollers - they better hold the body in corners. There are multicolour lighting, steering wheel with a red stripe in the centre and headrests with the NISMO logo.
The Armada NISMO 2026 model year will arrive in Nissan dealerships this autumn. Pricing hasn't been announced yet, but it's sure to be noticeably higher than the regular version.
