The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra prototype sedan has completed a lap of the Nürburgring with a lap time of 6:22.091 minutes. This is almost 24 seconds faster than the previous record set in 2024.

Here's What We Know

Xiaomi maintains two lists of its records at the Nürburgring in Germany - for the production SU7 Ultra and for a lighter prototype of the same model. The best confirmed result for the production version is 7:04.957. This is faster than the Porsche Taycan and even the Rimac Nevera supercar.

The specially prepared Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, in turn, passed the Nürburgring lap faster than the Lotus Evija X prototype (6:24.04). Now the SU7 Ultra is in third place in the overall standings, and is likely to stay there for some time. Beating the second-place finisher VW ID.R would mean going faster than 6:05.33. Taking the top spot in the rankings remains an even tougher task - to do so, you'll need to beat the 2018 record of 5:19:546 set by Timo Bernhard at the wheel of a Porsche 919 EVO.

The young car brand from China celebrated another record with two new special edition cars. The first is an optional Track Package configuration priced at 100,000 yuan (approximately $13,950). It adds a track-class high-performance battery, improved cooling, optimised brakes, Nürburgring-tuned suspension components and a top speed of 350 km/h to the SU7 Ultra.

Even more exclusive is the Nürburgring edition model with three engines with a combined output of 1,138 kW and 1,770 Nm of torque. Such a sedan is equipped with unique underbody panels, a new safety cage in place of the rear seats and aerodynamic improvements to the exterior. With a price tag of 814,900 yuan (about $114,000), Xiaomi will only produce 10 units in 2025, and the total production run will be limited to 100 units.
