TCL CSOT has received the world's first SGS Quasi-Natural Light Spectrum EX certification for its new Natural-Spectrum Slim Pad Display.

Here's What We Know

The announcement was made at the MWC Shanghai 2025 exhibition. This standard confirms that the screen shows light as close to natural sunlight as possible.

TCL CSOT's Quasi-Natural Light Spectrum technology adjusts the backlight and colour filters to make the light more natural. This helps reduce eye strain during prolonged use of gadgets.

During the day, the display promotes the release of dopamine in the retina, which can reduce the risk of myopia. At night, it reduces the suppression of melatonin, the hormone responsible for sleep, so it helps you fall asleep better.

SGS has developed a new system for evaluating such screens. The main metric, the Quasi-Natural Light Index (QNLI), shows how similar the light spectrum of the screen is to sunlight at lunchtime. TCL's display scored 56%, which is above the minimum threshold for certification.

According to TCL CSOT's head of technology planning, this award confirms the company's commitment to protecting eye health. TCL has previously worked on blue light reduction and anti-glare technologies.

The vice president of SGS China noted that TCL's approach could serve as an example for other manufacturers looking to make screens more comfortable and safe for users.
