While others are getting used to presenting development on paper, Noetix Robotics is already in business: after a demonstration participation in a half-marathon for robots, the company is receiving large orders and preparing to attract new investments.

Here's What We Know

Noetix Robotics, a Chinese startup founded in 2023 by 27-year-old Tsinghua graduate Jiang Zheyuan, had sales problems a couple of months ago: the Hobbit-format robots were not finding customers. That changed when the N2 model placed second in the world's first robot half-marathon, instantly boosting the brand and generating market interest.

The company is now aiming to produce 2,000 models by the end of the year. It is also in talks for a $35m funding round at a $200m valuation - roughly the same amount it has already raised since launch.

Noetix's staff has doubled in size - it now has about 100 employees. Both mobile robot couriers and likely hybrid application models in logistics and retail are being developed. Winning the half marathon was a showcase for the technology and attracting investors.

Market Context

In China this year alone, the government announced its intention to invest around 1 trillion yuan ($138bn) in robotics and high-tech over the next 20 years.

Previously, startups have demonstrated prototypes of humanoid robots for factories and schools, but Noetix has managed to find commercial applications and a quick entry into the market.
