Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is out of competition - Metacritic has published a list of the best games of the first half of 2025
Aggregator Metacritic has published the top 20 best games of the first half of 2025, based on their average score.
This time the competition was incredibly tough and each of the games deserves close attention.
Here's What We Know
The top includes games that have at least seven reviews, taking into account the versions of the platforms on which the games received the highest scores.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which was the debut work of Sandfall Interactive studio, took the first place with 93 points and impressed gamers with its incredible aesthetics, excellent technical execution and deep combat system.
The second place with 92 points is occupied by the puzzle game Blue Prince, and Split Fiction, a co-operative adventure game, which received 91 points, completes the top three.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, one of 2025's top 2025 titles, came in fourth place, with Kingdom Come: Deliverance II in eighth place and the unusual Polish game The Alters in 18th place.
