Xiaomi is copying Apple: the new interface in HyperOS 3 will pretty much replicate the visual style of Liquid Glass
Chinese brand Xiaomi is preparing to launch a new version of its shell - HyperOS 3. Images and details of the future interface have hit the web, which, according to insiders, will use a visual style called Liquid Glass. The main emphasis is on transparency, blurring and glossy elements, which is reminiscent of Apple's approach in the latest versions of its operating systems.
Here's What We Know
According to a leak from Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is planning a complete overhaul of the system's visual language. The changes will affect:
- control panel - it will get a semi-transparent background with smooth animations;
- icons and status bar will become lighter, with glossy highlights and rounded shapes;
- lock screen and home screen - minimalism instead of a search bar: now there will be more space for widgets;
- animations will become faster and smoother;
- the battery indicator will be redesigned with a rounded shape and a new iOS-style font.
HyperOS 3 is based on Android 16 and will be unveiled alongside the Xiaomi 16 lineup as early as October in China. An international release is expected before the end of 2025. Flagships will be the first to receive the update, followed later by the Redmi and POCO series devices.
HyperOS 3 will be an important step for Xiaomi in updating the visuals of its devices. The company is betting on modern design and comfortable interaction, following trends but adapting them to its own peculiarities of the ecosystem.
